For almost 30 years, we’ve inspired entrepreneurs to realize their dreams of business ownership. Our program is a complete business center. We help entrepreneurs and small business owners find their best potential as we walk with them to develop  a sustainable business model.

Owning a business is complex; entrepreneurs need tools for every stage of the business cycle. We provide formal business training, business consulting, microloans, and networking, making sure you have the tools you need to build and grow your business. Program services are provided in English and Spanish

    Business Training

    To help entrepreneurs learn and master the fundamentals of business ownership, we provide a 40 hour, 16-class course.The course is presented in English and Spanish and guides entrepreneurs through business start-up, launch, and growth. This includes in-depth guidance on writing a business plan – a foundational document for business owners.

    Course Cost: $200 (please note, scholarships are available)
    16 classes / 8 weeks / 2 evenings a week / 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm

    Coursework includes: Creating Business Plans – Branding and Messaging – Target Markets – Taxes/Accounting – Insurance – Human Resources
    Evening classes are offered at least 4 times a year in both Spanish and English.

  • Business Consulting

    Business Consulting

    We offer professional, low-cost business services  for entrepreneurs to business owners. Our staff helps with critical activities such as preparing sales tax reports, registering businesses, sales tax permits, obtaining Employer Identification Numbers (EINs), completing contractor licenses and Department of Transportation (DOT) permit applications, troubleshooting business challenges, and other services.

    We will be launching a Marketing Lab so clients can access technology and software vital to creating promotional materials for their products or business.

    Microloans

    Entrepreneurs who have graduated from our 16-week training program with a viable business plan can apply for up to $10,000 (36-month term) for business related purposes. To learn more, please contact microbusiness@ccomaha.org.

    Our program is a connection to continuous learning.
    We link entrepreneurs to other entrepreneurs, businesses, and community partners within the business ecosystem through training, workshops, and seminars.

    The Cleaning Academy

    To help entrepreneurs learn and master the fundamentals and obtain certification as a Certified Cleaning Technician.

    Coursework includes: Health and Safety Standards – Carpet and Floor Cleaning – Proper Surface Care – Appropriate Use of Equipment – Best Practices and Industry Standards – Chemical Labels, Safety and Exposure

CCUSA: National Recognition

In 2020, Catholic Charities of Omaha received an Innovation Challenge grant from Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA) to extend its Microbusiness Program to other Catholic Charities agencies across the nation. The award was the culmination of a year-long process in which Catholic Charities agencies nationwide competed for $1 million to fund their fresh solution to help alleviate, reduce or eliminate poverty.
