Catholic Charities of Omaha marked its 100th anniversary with a celebration at the St. Martin de Porres Center on Wednesday.

Omaha Mayor John Ewing Jr. joined the festivities and presented a proclamation recognizing the organization’s century of service and impact across the Omaha community.

Catholic Charities supports more than 325,000 people annually, providing services ranging from food and shelter to behavioral health.

“The fact that they are still providing that service when many other organizations may have come and gone. They are still here, and I think that’s a testament to the impactfulness of their work and the faithfulness to their mission in serving God’s people,” said Ewing.

Ewing said he is proud to have Catholic Charities as a partner in the city.
